What a beautiful day! More than 30 people gathered at 87 W Center St on April 7th to celebrate Meghan and Byron Leisek’s new business, Lotus Boutique & Studio, with a ribbon cutting and grand opening. It was a warm and sunny spring afternoon – a welcome change from the lingering winter weather we’ve been experiencing – and the shop was filled to overflowing with friends, family, and well-wishers.
Meghan, Byron, and their two dogs Zeus and Stanley welcomed the crowd with open arms. It’s clear this new business is a labor of love for the owners.
Lotus is a retail boutique and studio that carries a carefully curated selection of local art, jewelry, textiles, and world instruments such as Native American flutes and drums. The studio space at the back of the store is for weekly meditations, sound baths and various community workshops.
Chamber vice-president Ron Thomas greeted the attendees, which included chamber secretary Don Jennings, chamber treasurer Matt Claflin, and Kane County Commissioner Celeste Meyeres. Meyeres addressed the crowd, noting the importance of small businesses to Kanab’s economy and thanking Meghan and Byron for their dedication.
Commenting just before the ribbon cutting, Byron Leisek said, “Everyone here has been part of this journey, and we’re so grateful for your support.”
