December Chamber Luncheon at the SAR Building

A bright, sunny day greeted about 35 attendees of the Kanab Area Chamber’s December luncheon at the Kane County Search & Rescue Building next to the Kanab Airport.

Shanell Heely, Matt Claflin, and Ron Thomas spreading holiday cheer at the sign-in table!

The chamber’s monthly lunch gatherings are open to the public, free for members, and $10 for non-members. Food for this month’s gathering was provided by the food service department at the Kane County Jail, and included egg rolls, orange chicken, fried rice, salad, and cold drinks.

Chamber Treasurer Matt Claflin welcomed the attendees, noting that Big Al's Burgers, Brown Box Bakeshop, Glazier’s Market, Houston's Trail's End Restaurant, and Kanab United Drug renewed their memberships since the last luncheon. Hughe’s General Contractors in Washington County joined the chamber in the interim, as well.

Also present were Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Big Al's Burgers, Burro Flats High Desert Lodge, Cliffview Chapel, Happy Horse & Dog Pet Resort, Healing Strong, Hughe's General Contractors, Kane County Commission, Lotus Boutique, Mesa Design, Mortgage Mate Mountain America, Once Upon a Time in America Museum, Quantum NLP, Rafter H Homes, Realty One Goldmark, and State Bank of Southern Utah.

Lt. Alan Alldredge, in his role as Director of Emergency Services for the county, presented on the nature and impact of various kinds of emergencies our community might face, including things like hazardous spills, fires & floods, utility outages, and even earthquakes, adding that an earthquake in the northern part of state would send folks seeking shelter to the south.

Thank you, Alan, and thank you to everyone who attended – what a great way to finish the year!
