Adria Sexon had her namesake restaurant ready to go for our June 8th Kanab Area Chamber luncheon. Kanab City Manager Kyler Ludwig was the guest speaker, and about a dozen members and guests joined chamber president Pat Guerrero and secretary Don Jennings for a delicious buffet lunch.

Don Jennings welcomed the group, noting that Buckskin Tavern, Kanab Plumbing, Rocking V Café, and Sunny Creek Coffee had joined the chamber since last month’s meeting. Additionally, Hampton Inn and Mortgage Mate renewed their memberships.
Member businesses represented at the meeting included Eagle Gate Title, ERA Utah Properties, Kanab City, Kanab Create, Mountain America Credit Union, Ron’s Fresh Baked, Sight to Soul Photography, and Taro Coffee. Riley Martone of Martone Integrated Systems was a welcome guest, as well.
Kyler Ludwig spoke at length about the business of Kanab City, including projects in the works and developing plans. Most interesting was a group discussion about what Kanab means to each of us. Kyler noted that he often hears folks say, “Let’s keep Kanab, Kanab,” and was curious about what that really means. Most responded with a variation of a) small town feel, b) opportunities for family, and c) managed growth. Acknowledging the commonality of our hopes for the city is a great place to start when it comes to planning what comes next.
Kanab City Attorney Kent Burggraaf was on hand for the meeting, as well. We’re so grateful to have the city participating in our luncheons!
