Three advertising ideas that won’t break the bank

Effective marketing takes time, money… and know-how. The best ways to “get your business out there” aren’t always obvious, but with a little time and creativity you can get the job done, and then some! Here are three ways to market your business without busting your budget.

  1. Google My Business If you attended our latest chamber luncheon you learned about “Google My Business,” a separate business listing within Google that features local businesses at the top of search results. You only need to claim your business listing to start and it’s fairly easy to do. It’s also free! You can view the PowerPoint from the chamber presentation here and download the accompanying handout here.

  2. Facebook Business Page It’s easy to make a Facebook Business Page, and it doesn’t cost a thing. Even a total beginner can use their Facebook Business Page to find new customers and build relationships with existing customers, and there are lots of ways to learn how to do it. Here’s a great video explaining how to get it done: Facebook Business Page Tutorial 2022

  3. Look for unique opportunities One unique local opportunity: the Southern Utah News debuted their new website this year, and they’re offering advertising spots at very reasonable prices. The SUN’s online news stories receive thousands of views per month, and you can get a box or banner ad for less than $2/day! Local Berkshire Hathaway realtor Brenda Battista recently purchased 3 months of online ads from the SUN. She says, “Having ads on the SUN's website helps me reach people that I wouldn’t normally encounter in my daily life. It’s a great reminder to friends, family, and past clients that I’m here to help with their real estate needs, and the cost is very low!” Learn more about the SUN’s online ads here.

Marketing your business locally doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated. Businesses of every size can get big results using the tips above. Contact the chamber if you have questions or need some guidance – we’re here to help!
